The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts Charity Request Policy

Thank you for your interest in The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts regarding charitable ticket donations. Growing the arts and culture in our community is very important to us. We would like to contribute to as many non-profit organizations as possible. We are also a non-profit entity and therefore must follow specific guidelines in order to donate to other 501c(3) organizations.  

OUR GUIDELINES 

  • Please submit requests between 70 and 30 days in advance of your event. Due to the rolling nature of our programming we cannot make determinations earlier than 70 days, and due to the steps that may be involved in approval, printing, and delivery we ask for at least 30 days.
  • We accept requests only by mail, email, or web form submission.
  • We provide in-kind ticket donations only. Gift certificates are rarely provided.
  • Specific requests will be considered, but will not be guaranteed. 
  • Because we are a community-funded establishment, we only donate to certified 501c(3) organizations.
    • Per IRS code, we are prohibited from donating toward a political campaign on behalf of, or in opposition to, any candidate for elective public office.
  • Request approval can take up to 3 weeks, as multiple layers of approval might be necessary. 

DONATION REQUEST REQUIREMENTS 

Inquiries must include the following information:

  • Name and date of the event
  • Location and description of the event
  • Expected attendance at the event
  • Purpose or Mission Statement of Charity
  • How tickets will be distributed (e.g. raffle, silent auction, etc.)
  • Non-Profit ID#
  • Contact person (name, phone number, and email address) 

Please Note: Past support of an organization or event does not guarantee future support. Please limit requests to one per year, per organization. We would love to support all worthwhile causes; we regret that we can’t grant every request. You will be notified only upon approval.
