Celebrating 25 Years of the Kimmel Center

Twenty-five years ago, Philadelphia set out to create a world-class home for the performing arts, a place that could present extraordinary performances and serve as a gathering place for the entire city. It would be a cultural destination where artists and audiences could experience the transformative power of the arts together: on and off the stage.   

Since opening in December 2001, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts has welcomed more than 10 million people to performances, civic celebrations, and educational programming.
