Fueling Future Artists: How Your Support Through EITC Transforms Lives
October 16, 2025At the very core of our mission, we strive to provide vital arts education and community programs to a broad, diverse audience of all ages. We are committed to serving our community with the same level of artistic excellence on- and off-stage—fostering a love for the arts in all Philadelphia students and inspiring the next generations of artists and audiences.
We are honored to be officially approved as an Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) by the Department of Community and Economic Development of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (DCED). This means contributions to us are eligible for the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)!
The EITC is a tax incentive program that encourages individuals and businesses to support Educational Improvement Organizations like ours. Donors can receive up to a 90% state tax credit plus a 10% charitable deduction—an extraordinary way to maximize giving while minimizing out-of-pocket costs.
These contributions directly support transformative arts education programs and real student success stories, like Akili Farrow:
Akili Farrow studied in the Orchestra’s All City Fellowship program while attending high school in Philadelphia. She went on to study music at the Royal College of Music in London and now teaches in our School Ensemble Program at KIPP West in Philadelphia, while also working as a professional musician. The skills and experience she gained in the Orchestra’s education programs opened doors to new opportunities and lifelong success.
Supporting our mission through EITC not only benefits students like Akili—it also strengthens our city’s cultural and community fabric. As Andy Jiang of Kind Insurance puts it:
“Partnering with The Philadelphia Orchestra and Ensemble Arts isn’t just about sponsorship—it’s about becoming part of something bigger. Businesses that support the arts contribute to the vibrancy of our city, inspire employees, and create lasting community connections.”
Research shows that students exposed to the arts experience greater academic success, are more motivated and goal-oriented, and grow into more civically engaged adults.
With your EITC support of our arts education programs, we can continue to make the arts inclusive, accessible, and transformational for all Philadelphia students.
