FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (April 22, 2026) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with Mills Entertainment, presents a special screening of Airplane! with the film’s stars Julie Hagerty and Robert Hays on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Miller Theater.

The stars of the greatest comedy to ever hit the skies will join the audience to screen a never-before-released edit of Airplane! straight from the vault of the legendary film’s co-writer & co-director, David Zucker. Following the screening (assuming they don’t have the fish for dinner), Julie Hagerty (“Elaine”) and Robert Hays (“Ted Striker”) will take the stage for a live discussion and Q&A to share behind-the-scenes stories, insights, and personal memories from working on this genre-defining comedy masterpiece.

Released in 1980 by Paramount Pictures, Airplane! is a feature film written and directed by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker. The film follows former fighter pilot Ted Striker (Robert Hays) as he attempts to safely land a commercial airplane after the flight crew becomes incapacitated, alongside Elaine Dickinson (Julie Hagerty), a flight attendant and Striker’s former romantic partner. The film employs a fast-paced comedic structure using visual gags, wordplay, and literal interpretations of dialogue. Airplane! was a commercial success at the time of its release and is frequently referenced in discussions of film comedy and parody.
