ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY, IN ASSOCIATION WITH
OUTBACK PRESENTS, WELCOMES THE HILARIOUS
“SOUTHERN COMEDIAN NEXT DOOR,”
DUSTY SLAY,
WITH HIS NEW STAND-UP SHOW,
THE NIGHT SHIFT TOUR,
FEBRUARY 1, 2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (December 10, 2024) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with Outback Presents, is thrilled to bring Dusty Slay, the comedian known for his unique humor and down-to-earth storytelling, and his highly anticipated The Night Shift Tour, to the Miller Theater on February 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
Long hair, tobacco, over-sized glasses, and a trucker hat, Slay is the self-effacing, bourbon-voiced, Southern comedian next door with a knack for observational, blue-collar humor and the nerve to say what everyone else is thinking. He grew up the son of a single mom in an Alabama trailer park and evokes laughs about everything from Cracker Barrel to his aversion to soap. The 40-year-old Nashville native is a mainstay on the country music scene, making his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2019 – the youngest at the time – and adding dozens of appearances in the historic Circle ever since.
“Now more than ever, audiences gravitate to artists for their relatability and honesty, even more so when an artist infuses storytelling with personal anecdotes and distinctive takes on life,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “Dusty Slay embodies that relatability, a unique voice in an early 2025 comedy lineup alongside Sam Morril, David Nihill, and Sheng Wang.”
Slay has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Lights Out with David Spade, and Jimmy Kimmel Live; has a Comedy Central special to his credit; and just released his first hour-long Netflix special, Workin’ Man, that he filmed about three hours from home, at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee. With almost 20 years of eliciting guffaws through his laidback observations, comedic cadence, and conversational style, Slay is just getting started bringing his brand of relatable, working-class comedy to audiences coast to coast.
Slay hosts the podcast We’re Having a Good Time with his wife Hannah. He is also a co-host of the Nateland podcast along with Nate Bargatze, Brian Bates, and Aaron Weber.
Other featured upcoming performances include Sam Morril (February 6, 2025, Miller Theater); Insidious: The Further You Fear (February 22, 2025, Miller Theater); Killers of Kill Tony (March 1, 2025, Miller Theater); David Nihill: Shelf Help Tour (March 6, 2025, Perelman Theater); Sheng Wang (March 7, 2025, Miller Theater); and Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny (June 23, 2025, Miller Theater).
