ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY, IN ASSOCIATION
WITH SHOW AND TELL, PRESENTS
MAE MARTIN: THE POSSUM,
MARCH 27, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (February 4, 2026) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with Show And Tell, is excited to welcome Mae Martin: The Possum to the Miller Theater on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. For one night only, acclaimed comedian, actor, podcast host, producer, and writer Mae Martin will bring their award-winning, globally beloved stand-up to Philadelphia.

Mae Martin draws audiences into their world with a unique blend of deeply personal storytelling, sharp wit, and emotional honesty. Martin began performing comedy at the young age of 13 and their career has flourished across multiple creative mediums that led to acclaimed stand-up specials, hit podcasts, bestselling books, charting music, and celebrated work in television.

“We are excited to present Mae Martin for the very first time in our Miller Theater as part of Ensemble Arts’ robust spring comedy series,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “Their Possum tour is sure to provide audiences with Martin’s signature self-deprecating, emotionally honest, fact-driven humor, as thoughtful as it is poignant.”

Martin’s most recent Netflix project, the limited series Wayward, which they co-created, co-showran, wrote, starred in, and executive produced, launched in September 2025 as the platform’s #1 most-watched TV series globally. Their previous Netflix work includes the semi-autobiographical comedy-drama Feel Good, which earned Martin a BAFTA TV Award nomination, as well as the stand-up specials DOPE, SAP (a JUNO Award nominee), and the 2024 comedy-doc series Have Nothing, for which they won a Canadian Screen Award.

On screen, Martin has also appeared in Season 2 of HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant and won Season 15 of Channel 4’s Taskmaster. Beyond the screen, Martin co-hosts the hit comedy podcast Handsome with Tig Notaro and Fortune Feimster, which surpassed 16 million downloads in its first year.

Expanding beyond comedy, Martin released their debut indie-rock album I’m A TV in 2025 through Universal Music Canada. Written entirely by Martin, the album explores themes of identity, nostalgia, and self-reflection. They also continue to engage audiences through documentary work, including hosting the CBC series Fluid: Life Beyond The Binary and appearing in Netflix’s Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution, which premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival. Their debut book, Can Everyone Please Calm Down?: A Guide to 21st Century Sexuality, was published in 2019 to wide acclaim.

Other featured upcoming performances include Ali Siddiq: In the Shadows Tour (February 21, 2026, Marian Anderson Hall inside the Kimmel Center); Blue Man Group (February 24–March 1, 2026, Miller Theater); Kurt Elling: Wildflowers (February 27, 2026, Perelman Theater inside the Kimmel Center); David Nihill: Taking Tangents Tour (March 8, 2026, Perelman Theater inside the Kimmel Center); Emmet Cohen: Miles and Coltrane at 100 (March 20, 2026, Miller Theater); and Sh!t-Faced Shakespeare® Hamlet (March 20–21, 2026, Perelman Theater inside the Kimmel Center).

Martin’s excitable brand of storytelling makes [their special SAP’s] best observational chunk — a bit about identity formation and the transactional nature of social interactions — hit harder.
