MAY 4, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(April 24, 2025) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with Live Nation, presents the talented comedian and actor known for his engaging storytelling highlighting the Palestinian American experience, Mo Amer, in his El Oso Palestino Tour at the Miller Theater on May 4, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Mohammed "Mo" Amer is a celebrated Palestinian-American stand up comedian and award-winning writer. Currently starring in the acclaimed Netflix series MO, a semi-autobiographical series. MO was ‘certified fresh’ by Rotten Tomatoes with a rare 100% from critics and was named one of the best shows in 2022 from The New York Times and NY Magazine. The series also garnered Amer a Gotham Award, 2023 Peabody Award, AFI Honors and a Television Academy Honor. The highly anticipated season 2 of MO released January 30th 2025 on Netflix.

“Mo Amer brings a refreshing perspective to the comedy circuit, bridging multiple cultures and inviting audiences to laugh together about shared experiences,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “This new show includes all things personal, as Amer shares relatable moments of family life, new fatherhood, and how it all relates to what’s happening in the country and world today.”

Mo Amer shared, “So much has happened since my last tour and I can’t wait to get back to stand up and feel the energy of the audience for a proper group therapy session.”

Mo also co-starred in the Hulu show Ramy, where he plays Ramy's cousin, who owns and operates a diner, where many of the show's characters congregate. Alongside his TV success, Amer co-starred with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the DC blockbuster Black Adam, bringing humor to the DC comic. Known for his global reach, Amer has toured in over 40 countries, and his stand-up specials, Mo Amer: The Vagabond and Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas, are both available on Netflix.

Audiences can look forward to Amer’s show covering life, family, and his journey as a new dad in today’s political climate, all delivered with his signature humor and perspective just like he does on his eponymous show, MO.

Other featured upcoming performances include PHILADANCO! Relentless Resident Visions (April 25 – 27, 2025, Perelman Theater); Somi (May 9, 2025, Perelman Theater); Penn & Teller 50th Anniversary Tour (May 15, 2025, Academy of Music); Ichiko Aoba: Luminescent Creatures Tour (May 17, 2025, Miller Theater); and Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny (June 23, 2025, Miller Theater).
