ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY, IN ASSOCIATION
WITH R5 PRODUCTIONS, PRESENTS
MULTI-PLATINUM R&B ARTIST
AND PHILADELPHIA NATIVE
PINK SWEAT$ IN HIS WELCOME HOME TOUR,
FEBRUARY 14, 2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (December 10, 2025) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with R5 Productions, is thrilled to present Philly native and R&B artist Pink Sweat$ in his Welcome Home Tour at the Miller Theater on February 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. He will be joined by special guest Aqyila.
Nicknamed after the attire he became known for wearing in recording studios, Pink Sweat$ (or David Bowden) is a singer and songwriter who favors sparsely arranged R&B ballads consisting of little more than his voice and guitar. With his smooth vocals and melodies overlaying soft acoustic sounds, Pink Sweat$ strips back the typical genre-specific production to showcase melodic intricacy and lyrical prowess.
“Philly’s own Pink Sweat$ began his creative life as a producer and writer right here in his hometown,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “With wide appeal to fans of pop and R&B, Ensemble Arts is excited to host Pink Sweat$ for the very first time this Valentine’s Day – a day of love that appropriately happens to be Pink Sweat$’ birthday.”
The multi-platinum West Philadelphia-born and East Coast-based artist pushes love anytime he picks up a microphone. “Love is the one thing that never gets old,” he muses. “It will never go out of style, like Jordans. It’s a dark world, and I’m spreading light and love to people. We are all walking around in these adult bodies with little children inside of us we’re trying to protect. My purpose is to speak to your inner child.”
He got his start in the music industry as a demo vocalist and songwriter at Philly's historic Sigma Sound Studios, where he co-wrote materials for the likes of Rosie Bondz, Natalie Imani, Aaron Campter, and Tierra Whack. First emerging out of his native Philly with his platinum-certified single “Honesty” in 2018, Pink Sweat$’s debut album, Pink Planet, was released in 2021 and charted the Billboard 200, featuring the single “At My Worst” which quickly reached gold status. The New York Times attested, “As an album, Pink Planet extols fidelity and continuity, both to a partner and to a long musical heritage,” and Billboard hailed “his genre-blending music and sentimental lyricism.” It was followed by 2022's Pink Moon and EPs including 2023's Volume 3. The rapid rise of his debut EPs, Volume 1 and Volume 2, earned him a gold single and recognition from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and The Fader. Pink Sweat$ has delivered show stopping performances everywhere from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! to Lollapalooza and Coachella.
Other featured upcoming performances include An Evening with Josh Gad (January 15, 2025, Perelman Theater); Dusty Slay: The Night Shift Tour (February 1, 2025, Miller Theater); Sam Morril: The Errors Tour (February 6, 2025, Miller Theater); Vitamin String Quartet: The Music of Taylor Swift, Bridgerton, and Beyond (February 12, 2025, Miller Theater); Insidious: The Further You Fear (February 22, 2025, Miller Theater); Killers of Kill Tony (March 1, 2025, Miller Theater); David Nihill: Shelf Help Tour (March 6, 2025, Perelman Theater); Sheng Wang (March 7, 2025, Miller Theater); Ichiko Aoba: Luminescent Creatures Tour (May 17, 2025, Miller Theater); Somi (May 9, 2025, Perelman Theater); and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis (June 15, 2025, Marian Anderson Hall).
