ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY PRESENTS
GOOD THINGS: AN EVENING WITH SAMIN NOSRAT
FOOD FOR THOUGHT ON HER NEWEST BOOK, GOOD THINGS,
 SEPTEMBER 17, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (August 5, 2025) – Ensemble Arts Philly presents James Beard Award-winning chef and author Samin Nosrat and her book tour Good Things: An Evening with Samin Nosrat at the Miller Theater on September 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. In an evening focused on creativity and connection, Nosrat will remind us how cooking can not only nourish our bodies but also satiate our desire for kinship and community.

Audiences are invited to spend an uplifting evening with Samin Nosrat as she discusses her new book, Good Things, on stage with host Tamar Adler. Nosrat will share stories around the inspiration for the cookbook, her development and selection of the recipes, and the culinary rituals she shares with close friends. Ahead of the tour, Nosrat states, “There’s nothing quite like the magic that happens when we gather in a room together to listen, laugh, and experience a bit of wonder and joy.”

“We’re happy to welcome Samin Nosrat back to our Ensemble Arts Philly stage, this time in celebration her second cookbook,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “Nosrat’s work highlights cooking as a powerful art form, and her appearance in September adds another vibrant dimension to the already wide range of voices, disciplines, and educational experiences we feature on our stages.”

In 2017, chef and writer Samin Nosrat shared her simple but revolutionary cooking philosophy with us in Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. She then adapted the lessons of the #1 New York Times Bestseller into a beloved limited series of the same name for Netflix. During the pandemic she launched the Home Cooking podcast with Hrishikesh Hirway, sharing both her depth of knowledge and her joy for cooking with fans across the world. Over the years, Nosrat has become a trusted kitchen companion to millions of fans through her warm and endearing and deeply human approach to cooking, its processes, and its pleasures.

On September 16, 2025, Random House will publish Nosrat's eagerly awaited follow-up to Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, a cookbook titled Good Things: Recipes and Rituals to Share With the People You LoveGood Things offers more than 125 of her favorite recipes – simply put, the things she loves to cook for herself and her friends – and infuses them with her trademark blend of warmth, creativity, and precision.

Copies of the book, provided by Headhouse Books, will be available for purchase on the night of the show.

About Tamar Adler (Host)
Nosrat and Adler met in the early 2000s at Chez Panisse, where both of them worked in the kitchen but longed to find a way to the page. Nosrat was an early, ardent fan of Adler’s first book, An Everlasting Meal, and over the last two decades the two have become close friends, literary confidantes, and fierce supporters of one another’s work. Outside of the kitchen, they share a love of writing, reading, gardening, and travel.

Samin Nosrat is joy personified... The glee she experiences is perhaps exceeded only by the even greater pleasure she feels when sharing her receipes with others.

Elle

... unlike her predecessors, Nosrat seems firmly planted in the same clunky reality as the rest of us... refreshingly upfront about the messiness and occasional contradictions of her own life.
