ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY PRESENTS
SHONDA RHIMES: YEAR OF YES,
 OCTOBER 13, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(September 8, 2025) – Ensemble Arts Philly presents Shonda Rhimes: Year of Yes at the Perelman Theater inside the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts on October 13, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. After saying YES for a decade, Shonda offers an expanded edition of her New York Times bestselling memoir Year of Yes, with never-before-told stories, and brand-new reflections on growth, courage, and the magic that happens when you step into the unknown.

Shonda Rhimes is an award-winning television creator, producer, and author, as well as the CEO of the global media company Shondaland. Rhimes is the first woman to create three television dramas – Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal – that have achieved the 100-episode milestone. For five TV seasons, award-winning Shondaland shows Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder occupied ABC’s entire Thursday night schedule, creating a powerful brand well-known to fans and advertisers as TGIT. Rhimes has joined the streaming world of Netflix as the Executive Producer of Bridgerton and as Executive Producer, writer, and showrunner of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, as well as 2025’s The Residence with Uzo Aduba.

In this anniversary event, Rhimes will take the stage with special guests to share new moments that shaped her, the fears she conquered, and the unexpected joy of embracing life with an open mind. Come ready to laugh, reflect, and walk away braver and more ready to say YES!

"Ten years after its original release, Shonda Rhimes' Year of Yes still inspires courageous decision making,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “Her anniversary tour is not just a celebration of a transformative book, but a tribute to a trailblazer who has shaped and reshaped weeknight television, opening doors for new stories, voices, and dreams.”

Other featured upcoming performances include Kimberly Akimbo (October 21 – November 2, 2025); Tasha & Naomi Live in Concert (October 25, 2025, Miller Theater); Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny (November 6, 2025, Miller Theater); The Moth Mainstage (November 7, 2025, Miller Theater); Asi Wind: More Than Magic (November 8, 2025, Perelman Theater inside the Kimmel Center); Tom Papa: Grateful Bread Tour (November 8, 2025, Marian Anderson Hall inside the Kimmel Center); An Evening with Samara Joy (November 11, 2025, Miller Theater); Guenther Steiner: Unfiltered LIVE (November 13, 2025, Miller Theater); and Gary Gulman: Grandiloquent (November 14–15, 2025, Perelman Theater inside the Kimmel Center).
