FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (August 25, 2026) – Ensemble Arts Philly proudly presents Shoshana Bean for one extraordinary evening at the Miller Theater on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. A Tony and Grammy Award-winning actress, singer, and songwriter, Bean is one of Broadway's most electrifying and versatile performers. Joined by her band, Bean will perform an evening of soulful originals from her latest album, Only Smoke, and beloved classics, highlighting the extraordinary voice that has made her one of today's most celebrated live performers.
“Broadway audiences know Shoshana Bean for her unforgettable performances, but an evening like this offers something even more special: the opportunity to experience her artistry on her own terms," said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. "As a singer, songwriter, and performer, she brings a distinctive voice and creative perspective that extends far beyond any single role. Presenting artists like Shoshana Bean reflects our commitment to bringing exceptional talent to Philadelphia and creating memorable live experiences that connect audiences with the artists they admire in new and meaningful ways."
Shoshana Bean can currently be seen in The Lost Boys on Broadway, for which she won the 2026 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Prior to that, she starred in Alicia Keys' hit Broadway musical, Hell's Kitchen. Her portrayal of 'Jersey' earned her a Grammy Award, her second Tony Award nomination, a Drama League Award nomination, and a Drama Desk nomination. Her performance in the Public Theater's Hell's Kitchen Off-Broadway production earned her a Lucille Lortel Award nomination.
In 2022, she received Tony and Grammy nominations as well as an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination and a Drama League Award nomination for her role as Susan Young opposite Billy Crystal in Broadway’s Mr. Saturday Night. She previously starred on Broadway as the first replacement for Elphaba in Wicked and as Jenna in Waitress.
Her six independent studio albums and EPs have landed her on top of the iTunes and Billboard charts, including the peak position of #1 on the Billboard Jazz Chart. She has sold out concerts around the globe and lent her voice to countless films and television shows, including The Boys, Sing, Sing 2, Enchanted, Jersey Boys, Glee, and Galavant. Shoshana made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Hairspray and appeared Off-Broadway in the 2000 revival of Godspell and in Songs for a New World at City Center Encores.
