FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (July 27, 2026) – Ensemble Arts Philly announces the Philadelphia premiere of The Magicians Table, an internationally acclaimed immersive magic experience direct from London. Running at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts from October 21 through November 22, 2026, The Magicians Table’s limited five-week engagement brings audiences into an intimate world where astonishing close-up magic, live music, handcrafted cocktails, immersive storytelling, and laugh-out-loud comedy combine to create an unforgettable adults-only night out. Tickets are on sale Friday, August 7 at 10 AM at ensembleartsphilly.org.
"The Kimmel Center was built to bring people together, and we're always looking for new ways to create exceptional experiences for our audiences," said Ryan Fleur, President and CEO. "From CLUE: A Walking Mystery and The RESET immersive sound bath to now welcoming The Magicians Table, we're continuing to expand how audiences engage with the arts across our venues. These experiences complement our world-class lineup and reflect our commitment to presenting the highest-quality productions while transforming our spaces in creative ways that inspire curiosity, connection, and discovery."
The Magicians Table will feature touring magicians as well as a selection of artists from across the Philadelphia region. Local cast members will be announced at a later date.
Hailed by renowned British magician Derren Brown as "beautifully realised and huge, huge fun," The Magicians Table invites audiences into an immersive evening celebrating the life of the legendary magician Dieter Roterburg. Hosted by his devoted widow, Calliope, and attended by Dieter's closest friends and fellow performers, the gathering features extraordinary close-up magic, live music, comedy, cocktails, and storytelling. What begins as a tribute to a beloved showman quickly becomes something more, as a series of letters and surprises left behind by Dieter reveal that the magician may have one final trick still waiting to unfold.
The magic begins the moment guests enter the Kimmel Center and lingers well after the final applause. The evening starts in a curated lounge where guests will enjoy signature handcrafted cocktails while magicians mingle throughout the room, performing spontaneous sleight-of-hand and illusions prior to the main performance.
Guests then venture into SEI Innovation Studio, the Kimmel Center’s intimate black box that will be transformed into a richly atmospheric performance space where the line between theater and reality begins to disappear. Welcomed into the Roterburgs' private performance space, over the course of two hours world-class magicians, once part of Dieter Roterburg's entourage, perform table-side and on the main stage, wowing guests with spectacular illusions and redefining what the art of magic can be.
Designed exclusively for guests ages 18 and older, The Magicians Table offers a sophisticated alternative to a traditional night at the theater. Whether celebrating a special occasion, planning a memorable date night, gathering with friends, entertaining clients, or simply looking for a distinctive evening out, audiences will experience an intimate theatrical event unlike a traditional magic show. Ensemble Arts Philly will have select 1 PM Saturday matinees available for ages 14 and older.
The Magicians Table is produced by Alison Spiriti and Justin Sudds of Right Angle Entertainment, in collaboration with BAFTA and Olivier award-winning writer Iain Sharkey, renowned for his work with Derren Brown. The creative team also includes Tom Greenwood-Mears, founder of Cut & Mustard and producer of international tours and immersive experiences, and Kevin Hammonds, an award-winning immersive writer and designer.
