ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY PRESENTS
THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED LIVE
STORYTELLING PHENOMENON,
THE MOTH MAINSTAGE,
AT THE MILLER THEATER,
NOVEMBER 7, 2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (October 2, 2025) – Ensemble Arts Philly presents The Moth Mainstage, a captivating evening of powerful, real-life storytelling at the Miller Theater on November 7, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. With a reputation for showcasing voices across cultures, communities, and experiences, The Moth invites the audience to discover the power of storytelling to bridge divides, celebrate humanity, and inspire meaningful connections.
The theme this year will be “DARING”. Five storytellers will explore the theme of “DARING,” with true and personal stories told live and without notes. Stories of bold choices, audacious proclamations, and moments that required everything they had. Expect to laugh, gasp, cry, and maybe even cover your eyes. Experience the Moth Mainstage live as storytellers take risks, explore human truths, and challenge audiences to consider what it means to be daring.
Mainstage is The Moth's flagship series, featuring a musical act, notable host, and five storytellers each sharing personal moments from their lives. Combining the authenticity of a documentary with the intimacy of theater, The Moth offers a unique storytelling experience that cultivates empathy and connection.
"The Moth brings extraordinary magic to our stage by turning personal experiences into universal connections," said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. "These raw, unscripted stories are works of art, creating moments where strangers become kindred spirits, laughing and reflecting together in real time.”
The Moth presents true stories, told live and without notes. They celebrate the ability of authentic, personal storytelling to illuminate both the diversity and commonality of the human experience. Their work allows people all over the world and from all walks of life – astronauts, students, a dental hygienist, a hotdog eating champion, a mechanic, exonerated prisoners, veterans, Nobel laureates and everyone in between – to share their stories on stage in front of a live audience. Through live and virtual shows, storytelling workshops, a podcast, Peabody Award-winning Radio Hour, and New York Times Best Selling books, The Moth brings the power of personal storytelling to millions of people each year – creating community and building empathy around the world.
