A continuation of last year’s The Ghetto: This Joy I Have, KOLD: The Truth Behind the Tales finds our girls frozen—transformed into cold, magical beings in order to survive America. In a world shaped by violence, power, borders, and the stories we’ve been taught to believe, only one thing can thaw them: the truth. Highly political and deeply personal, KOLD turns familiar tales inside out to uncover what was hidden all along—we were always the magic. They just lied to us.
