The Penn Med Symphony Orchestra is comprised of musicians from across the Philadelphia area who work in medicine, including physicians, nurses, researchers, students, dentists, veterinarians, and administrators.
The ensemble was founded in 2016, and it celebrates its 10th anniversary with the generous support and endowment from Dr. Bruce Gould. Under the batons of Drs. Daniel and David Zhang, this exciting concert program features a world premiere by one of our own, medical student Oluwasijibomi (Siji) Osunkoya, and also highlights some of our favorite repertoire over the years from Márquez’s flamboyant Danzón No. 2 to Rimsky-Korsakov’s narrative Scheherazade.
