Renowned for performances of both traditional and modern masterpieces, the Temple University Symphony Orchestra and Choirs present the 23rd annual concert at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for the Boyer College of Music and Dance.

Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States, this performance will feature a collection of symphonic and choral works representing the spirit of America including Aaron Copland’s classic Appalachian Spring Suite; Canticum Novum by Philadelphia-based composer Melissa Dunphy; Plain-Chant for America by William Grant Still; Freedom’s Plow by Rollo Dilworth; and Antonin Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”), composed while he was director of the National Conservatory of Music of America.
