The 8-Bit Big Band is a multi-GRAMMY Award-winning contemporary symphonic jazz orchestra created to celebrate and reimagine video game music's most beloved hits, rearranged in exciting and inventive ways that push the boundaries of how these legendary soundtracks are experienced as a standalone body of work.
Founded and led by composer, arranger, and conductor Charlie Rosen, the band brings a distinctive artistic vision to the genre, blending the tradition of symphonic jazz with a modern genre-spanning approach.
Formed in 2017 with the release of their debut album Press Start, followed by their sophomore album Choose Your Character in 2018, the band earned their first GRAMMY Award with their third album Backwards Compatible in 2022. They continued their momentum with Game Changer in 2023, and most recently secured their second GRAMMY Award in 2026, further cementing their place at the forefront of orchestral video game music. Their sixth album is currently in the works, with a release planned for later this year.
