A visionary artist, activist, and educator whose unique career has transcended traditional boundaries, Midori has transfixed audiences since she first burst onto the world stage as a child prodigy at the age of 11. In her seventh PCMS appearance, she and award-winning pianist Özgür Aydin offer a wide range of repertoire from a Philadelphia premiere by French composer Thierry Escaich to concluding their program with Schumann’s intense, often symphonic-like D Minor Violin Sonata—dedicated to virtuoso Ferdinand David and characterized by a recurring theme derived from the letters of David’s name (DAFD).
