Richard Goode is acclaimed worldwide for the tremendous emotional power, depth, and sensitivity of his playing—a rare combination of grandness and humility, boldness and insight. The title of his latest PCMS program, Fancies and Goodnights, is borrowed from a book of bewitching tales by the English writer John Collier. “As a curious traveler will collect objects that catch hiseye, these short pieces are among the many that have caught my ear with their beauty, strangeness, and unpredictability,” says Goode.
